We all know that early intervention sets kids with autism up for success later in life. Too often the programs that will support their child’s social development are out of reach financially. For those families that struggle, we’ve got good news! We just learned about a new program through the Minnesota Department of Education that will open up high quality educational opportunities to more families.
A new Early Learning Scholarships Program will be available for Minnesota families in early fall of 2013 to increase access to high-quality early childhood programs for three- to five-year-old children with the highest needs.
MDE is establishing the application process and guidance for implementation of the scholarships. Priority for scholarships will be given based on family income, child poverty and geographic region. Up to $5,000 per scholarship will be awarded.
More details will be available on this opportunity, and we will keep you updated. For now, visit the page for eligibility details. And start dreaming big about your child’s options for early learning in the fall.
