Autism and Safety: Meet and Greet with Community Officers

May 14, 2016 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

$20
autism and safety

Officer Zink, the “Autism Cop,” will share with families his recipe for ensuring positive interactions with law enforcement at this family event. Other departments will share how they support families living with autism, and safety tips for the most common issues – wandering, community outings, home security – that impact families of all ages will be addressed.

But the best way to keep your child safe is to have a relationship with your local police department. So  most of your time will be spent interacting with representatives from your police department. In this fun and supportive environment, your child with autism will establish positive relationships with police while officers learn the best way to interact with your family.

Parents and caregivers will leave with a template for preparing for emergencies, giving everyone peace of mind.
